Pune, 8th August 2024: Zomato has introduced a new feature called Zomato Instant Balance, which aims to make food ordering more convenient for customers who prefer cash payments. This feature allows users to have their leftover change from cash transactions credited directly to their Zomato Money account. This move is set to address a common issue faced by customers and enhance their overall experience with the platform.
Zomato’s new Instant Balance feature eliminates the hassle of dealing with leftover change when making cash payments. For instance, if a customer orders food worth 136 rupees and pays with 140 rupees in cash, the 4 rupees change will be credited directly to their Zomato Money account. This amount can then be used for future orders. Announcing the feature, Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal shared on his official X handle that this initiative is designed to simplify the payment process for customers and improve their experience.
According to Goyal, the idea for the Zomato Instant Balance feature was inspired by their partner company, Big Basket, which has implemented similar customer-friendly features. “We understand the inconvenience of handling small change during cash payments. With this feature, we aim to provide a seamless and hassle-free payment experience for our customers,” Goyal stated.
Every time a customer makes a cash payment, the leftover change will automatically be transferred to their Zomato Money account. This ensures that customers can accumulate and use this balance for their future orders without any hassle. The feature is expected to encourage more customers to use cash payments without worrying about losing small amounts of change.
This initiative is part of Zomato’s ongoing efforts to enhance customer satisfaction and streamline the food ordering process. By addressing a common pain point, Zomato hopes to make its platform more user-friendly and efficient, ultimately boosting customer loyalty and engagement.
