Pune, 5th August 2024: Cloudburst-like rains have affected Pune City and District for the past few days. Due to heavy rains, the dams that supply water to Punekars have experienced a significant increase in water levels. The Khadakwasla Dam chain has reached 92.58% of its storage capacity, with 26.99 TMC of water stored. As a result, 25,000 cusecs of water have been released from the Khadakwasla Dam into the Mutha River. This release has caused water to enter houses in the riverside societies along Sinhagad Road.

Against this backdrop, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde interacted with the citizens of Ekta Nagari on Sinhagad Road today. During the visit, a young boy held a placard that read, “Eknath uncle, please build us a wall!!!” This placard attracted everyone’s attention, prompting Chief Minister Eknath Shinde to interact with the boy. The Chief Minister assured the boy that he would try to build the wall.
