Pune, 30th July 2024: The highly anticipated sequel, “Jailer 2,” marks superstar Rajinikanth’s second collaboration with director Nelson Dilipkumar. Recently, actor Yogi Babu shared intriguing updates about the project in an interview with the Tamil YouTube channel Cineulagam. “Jailer,” released in 2023, was a massive success, breaking numerous box office records in Tamil cinema. The confirmation of Rajinikanth and Nelson reuniting for “Jailer 2” has generated significant excitement. Yogi Babu, who plays a pivotal role in the franchise, revealed that the sequel is set to feature more of his signature comedic tracks, penned by Nelson.

In his interview, Yogi Babu spoke about his successful collaborations with director Nelson Dilipkumar, starting from Nelson’s debut project, “Kolamavu Kokila.” He confirmed that they are teaming up again for “Jailer 2,” with Rajinikanth reprising his role as Muthuvel Pandian IPS. The first film can be streamed on platforms like Sun NXT, Amazon Prime Video, and OTTplay Premium. Babu noted that comedy is challenging, but Nelson has consistently written special tracks for him in all his films, including the upcoming sequel.

While Yogi Babu refrained from revealing specific details about his character or the plot of “Jailer 2,” he hinted at having an interesting role in what is one of Tamil cinema’s most anticipated projects. In addition to Rajinikanth, the sequel is expected to see the return of Mohanlal and Shiva Rajkumar as Mathew and Narasimha, respectively, with new surprise additions to the star cast.

There are rumors that “Jailer 2” might be a crossover sequel featuring characters from Nelson’s debut film, “Kolamavu Kokila,” potentially bringing actress Nayanthara into the cast. Anirudh Ravichander is set to compose the music for the film, which is produced by Sun Pictures.
