Yellow Alert To Continue For Pune For Next Two Days, District Reports 15% Rain Deficit
Pune 8th Sept 2023 : The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy rainfall for the next two days in Pune district. The IMD has issued a yellow alert for Pune for September 9 and 10.
According to IMD, ‘heavy rainfall and thunderstorm with lightning at isolated places in ghat areas’ has been predicted during this period. Along with Pune, the IMD has issued a yellow apart for other districts including Satara, Jalgaon, Raigad, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurga, Thane and Satara for the next two days.
According to the IMD data, the district has received less rain that expected and around 15% rain deficit has been reported in Pune so far this year. The district has received 687.8 mm rainfall against 811.6 mm on normal rainfall predicted for this year. Jalna district in Maharashtra has reported the highest raim deficit of 47% as the district has received only 261.1 mm rain against 492.4 mm normal rain.
