World Environment Forum Organized by Fairyland

Fairyland Children’s Center at Deccan Gymkhana, organized a World Environment Forum as a part of the annual talent show on March 24, 2016. In the packed auditorium at Bal Shikshan Mandir, young  children played the roles of world leaders from eight countries. President Obama, First Lady Michelle Obama, Mr. Narendra Modi and Mrs. Sushama Swaraj played key roles. The leaders discussed the initiatives from each country to protect the environment and passed a joint resolution with the song, “We are in it together, this is the planet we share.”

“Our aim here is to involve children in the current issues at an early age, while having lots of fun,” said Mrs. Neelima Ranade, who heads the Fairyland Center. She said, “We are pleased with the participation by parents. All are inspired by our Prime Minister Narendra Modi and want to do our part for the neighborhood, city and country.”

The program was concluded with a national integration theme song, “I am just like you.” Children dressed in costumes of different states highlighted their specialties. They sang in one voice, “Sab Se Age Honge Hindustani.” Mrs. Jyotsna Sardeshpande, former PMC Corporator presided over the function. Principal of DES School, Ms. Jhaveri spoke as the chief guest. She congratulated Fairyland for selecting this unique concept for the annual talent show. She said, “It’s wonderful to see Fairyland planting the seeds of pride and confidence in these young citizens.”

Fairyland Center has been working in the field of early childhood education for last 23 years and this is one of the many unique activities conducted by the center in the area.
