Woman Stabs Herself to Death in Pune; Husband Arrested
Mangalwar Peth, 27th July 2024: A woman died by suicide by stabbing herself in the kitchen due to doubts about her character expressed by her husband. This incident happened in Pune’s Mangalwar Peth. For abetment of suicide, her husband has been arrested by Faraskhana Police. The deceased has been identified as Puja, also known as Sonal Vicky Kamble (age 33, resident of Mangalwar Peth). Her husband, Vicky Shankar Kamble (age 38), has been arrested for abetment of suicide. Puja’s mother, Laxmi Dnyaneshwar Sonawane (age 54, resident of Mangalwar Peth), filed a complaint at Faraskhana Police Station.
According to police reports, Vicky doubted Puja’s character and would constantly abuse and beat her. On 22nd July, at around 10:30 PM, Vicky argued and started abusing Puja, beating her. Puja then went to the kitchen and stabbed herself with a sharp knife, sustaining severe injuries. She was taken to the hospital but died during treatment. The complainant stated that her daughter died by suicide due to her husband’s torture. Assistant Police Inspector Vaibhav Gaikwad from Faraskhana Police Station is handling the case.
