Pimpri Chinchwad, 12th June 2024: Additional Sessions Judge PP Jadhav has handed down a life imprisonment sentence and a fine of Rs 1 lakh to Tulsi Pappu Babar, a 32-year-old resident of Chikhali, for the murder of her lover, Paigambar Gulab Mujawar, aged 35. The victim’s wife complained to Pimpri Police Station after Mujawar’s death, revealing the extramarital affair between Mujawar and Tulsi, who both worked at a garment shop in Chinchwad. Despite Mujawar’s marital status, the affair persisted, leading to Tulsi’s proposition of marriage and subsequent threats when Mujawar refused.

The fatal incident occurred on 13th August 2021, when Tulsi invited Mujawar to a lodge in Chinchwad. An argument ensued, culminating in Tulsi strangling Mujawar to death with a cloth. Assistant Police Inspector Ganesh Londhe led the investigation, resulting in the filing of a charge sheet. Additional Public Prosecutor Namdev Taralgatti presented testimony from ten witnesses, including crucial accounts from lodge workers, garment shop employees, and the investigating officer.
