Woman Assaulted After Refusing To ‘Sleep’ With Friends In Pune
Katraj, 11th March 2023: Pune police have registered an FIR against three persons for molestation and assault on a woman. The incident occurred on Thursday night at Siddharth Complex in Dhankawadi. The accused have been identified as Suvarna Hirve, Trinal, and his friend, and were booked based on a complaint filed by a 38-year-old woman.
As per the complaint, Suvarna invited the victim to her house where she introduced her to two youths. During their conversation, Suvarna suggested that the victim should sleep with them for a sum of Rs 4,000 to Rs 5,000. The victim refused, which led to a quarrel between the two. Then, as the victim was leaving, one of the accused youths allegedly grabbed her, molested her, and made inappropriate advances towards her. When the victim raised an alarm, she was allegedly abused and assaulted.
The accused have been booked under sections 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty), 354A (sexual harassment), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), and 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace) of the Indian Penal Code. The police are investigating the matter and will take necessary action based on the findings.
