With 70 Confirmed And 638 Suspected Patients, Pune Records Highest Dengue Cases In September
Pune 5th Oct 2023: The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has recorded the highest cases of dengue infection in the last month raising concerns for the health officials. The civic body has seen a rise in the cases despite taking action against various establishments responsible for the spread of disease in the city.
According to officials, a total of 70 confirmed and 683 suspected cases of dengue were reported in the city last month which was the highest count reported for a month so far in the current year. The municipal corporation has taken action against 174 such establishments in the last month that were found responsible for the spread of disease and a fine of a total of Rs 18,500 was collected from violators.
According to officials, the number of patients who are diagnosed for the second time is a serious concern as over 10% of such cases reported in the private hospitals are those who were diagnosed dengue for the second time in the current year. The civic body has already started a survey to identify mosquito breeding spots and action is being taken against the establishments failing to take action to prevent the spread of disease.
