When Pune Police put its might for sending medicines to Solapur

Pune,May 27, 2020: When Solapur resident Abhay Chawre wanted medicines urgently for his ailing kids from a doctor at Sinhgad Road, Pune, they were couriered through a courier service.


However due to the lockdown, and no intracity couriers operational, the parcel was stuck. Chawre desperately messaged Sr P I Shelke of Sinhgad Road Police station who informed API Satish Umare.


Umare tracked the courier company, got them to open the shop, picked up the medicines weighing a kilo, and asked Police Naik Pol to hand over to his batchmate API Patil of Hadapsar police station. Patil then managed to send packet to Chawre in Solapur on time for his kids. “It was all team work. We ensured that the medicines reach Solapur on time”, API Umare said.


Above and beyond the call of duty has become the gold standard, Pune Police and guess what, the entire state is becoming proud of the force.
