Pune, 17th October 2023: The Indian and Bangladesh cricket teams hit the nets today in preparation for their upcoming match, scheduled for the 19th of October, at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune. Both teams engaged in rigorous practice sessions to fine-tune their skills and strategies, with a focus on preparing for the highly anticipated clash.

Indian batsmen were observed honing their abilities to tackle bouncer deliveries while also facing spinners, recognizing the strength of Bangladesh’s spin bowling options. A standout was Virat Kohli, who dedicated considerable time to practice against spinners, receiving deliveries from local net bowlers as well as the likes of Kuldeep Yadav and Ravindra Jadeja.

The Bangladesh team poses a notable challenge with their veteran spinner and experienced captain, Shakib Al Hasan, who is expected to be a formidable adversary to the Indian batting lineup, particularly on the Gahunje Stadium’s pitch.

While India boasts a rich cricketing history and a remarkable record on this ground, the players are committed to continuous improvement and persistent practice.

On Monday, the Indian players took a day off from training, while Coach Rahul Dravid inspected the pitch at the stadium. The team resumed their training in the nets on Tuesday. According to sources, the squad will engage in further practice sessions on Thursday, the 18th of October, with lighter training sessions before their encounter with Bangladesh on the 19th of October, Friday.
