Wakad Police Parades Goons Who Terrorised People In Rahatani, Kalewadi
Pimpri-Chinchwad, November 2, 2020: A mob hurled stones and choppers to terrorise residents of Rahatani and Kalewadi areas on Friday night. Today Wakad police station officials paraded the six accused persons in the same areas.
The arrested accused have been identified as Shubham Nivruti Kavthekar (23) of Bibwewadi, Deepak Natha Misal (23), Mangesh Motiram Sakpal (23), both residents of Kalewadi, Kailas Haribhau Vanjali (19), Akash Mahadev Kamble (22), Sunny Gomat Gaware (19), all residents of Rahatani. Police have also detained two minor boys. The accused have been remanded in custody for three days.
Assistant Police Inspector Harish Mane, Virendra Chavan and other police personnel took the six accused to the spot where the vandalism took place. All the accused were handcuffed and beaten with sticks. They were paraded on the streets.
Some citizens came out of the house without any hesitation and were watching the ‘barat’, as it is called in police parlance. This included a large number of women. Citizens were expressing satisfaction over the action of the police.
Assistant Police Inspector Chavan said that the accused persons were taken to the spots as part of the investigation. Two choppers have seized from the accused.
