Wagholi: Pune Police Recover 244 Stolen Laptops Worth Rs One Crore, Three Arrested

Wagholi, 19th October 2024: In a significant breakthrough, the Wagholi Police have arrested three individuals in connection with the theft of 280 Lenovo laptops from the godown of Arcline Logistics and Warehousing Pvt. Ltd. The stolen goods, valued at ₹1 crore, were recovered from the accused.

The case was registered on October 15, 2024, and an investigation was initiated under the guidance of Additional Commissioner of Police (East Region) Manoj Patil, DCP (Zone 4) Himmat Jadhav, and ACP (Yerwada Division) Pranjali Sonwane.

DCP Himmat Jadhav praised the swift action by the investigation team, saying, “Based on a tip-off received by Senior Police Inspector Pandit Rejitwad and technical analysis conducted by Policeman Ajit Farande, our team was able to track down the accused within days.”

The police team, consisting of one officer and three constables, was dispatched to Valunj MIDC in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar District, where they apprehended the three suspects. The accused have been identified as Suresh Mahadev Kumar (35), a resident of Ubalenagar, Wagholi, originally from Sahajpur, Uttar Pradesh; Shivaji Jagannath Vasu (27), a resident of Dhanegaon, Taluka Gangapur, Sambhajinagar; and Kumud Ranjan Jha (32), a resident of Priyankanagar, Wagholi, Pune.

During the raid, the police recovered 244 Lenovo laptops, two pickup vans, and three mobile phones, amounting to a total recovery of ₹1 crore. The accused were presented before a judicial magistrate and have been remanded to police custody for three days for further questioning.

Assistant Police Inspector Yogesh Khatke is leading the ongoing investigation to trace the remaining stolen laptops and uncover any other potential accomplices involved in the crime.
