Wagh Bakri’s Executive Director Dies of Brain Hemorrhage After Fending Off Stray Dogs
Ahmedabad, 23rd October 2023: The Executive Director of Wagh Bakri Tea Group, Parag Desai, has passed away at the age of 49 due to injuries sustained from a stray dog attack. The incident led to severe brain damage and ultimately, his untimely demise. The tragic event has cast a pall over the business community, deeply affecting his family as well.
According to reports, on October 15, Parag Desai was attacked by stray dogs during his morning walk. In his attempt to fend off the aggressive canines, he stumbled and fell, sustaining injuries that led to significant brain damage.
Security personnel promptly informed the family and rushed him to Shalby Hospital. Despite initial treatment, his condition did not show significant improvement, prompting a transfer to Zydus Hospital. He was placed on a ventilator for seven days. In the early hours of Sunday, October 22, he passed away at a specialized hospital in Ahmedabad. Desai’s last rites were performed on Monday.
Parag Desai, the son of Rass Desai, served as the Managing Director of Wagh Bakri Tea Group, overseeing the company’s sales, distribution, and export divisions. The company boasts a turnover of over INR 2,000 crores. He began his career with enthusiasm in 1995. However, his promising life has been tragically cut short due to unforeseen circumstances.
