Voter Registration Drive Underway in Pune District, Check Details Here

Pune, 28th July 2024: In accordance with the directives of the Election Commission of India, a voter registration drive is currently being conducted at various locations across the Pune district under the special brief revision programme. Eligible citizens must register as voters by August 16 to participate in the upcoming assembly elections.

 

Voter registration camps have been set up at Prof Ramakrishna More College in Akurdi and Dr. DY Patil College in Nigdi. During these sessions, students were informed about the importance of voter registration and the significance of voting. Additionally, a special voter registration camp was organized at Nagnath Maruti Gad Singh (Guruji) Junior College in Chinchwad.

 

Other locations where voter registration applications are being collected include Bhor, Saswad, Panchsheel Nagar, Tingre Nagar, Magarpatta, Thergaon, Velhe, Mulshi, Ambegaon, Khed, Alandi, Mulshi, Ambegaon, Chandoli Khurd, Avasari Khurd, and Bhosari in Vishrantwadi.

 

Various public awareness activities are being implemented under the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) initiative to educate voters about the special campaign. The focus is particularly on encouraging new voters to register. Along with voter registration, the camps are also accepting applications for corrections in voter list details.

 

Deputy Election Officer Meenal Kalaskar has appealed to citizens to participate in this special camp or contact the polling station officer at the nearest polling station if their name is not on the voter list or if there are details that need to be corrected.
