Vehicle Carrying Courier Material Catches Fire On Pune-Mumbai Expressway, Driver Escapes Safe

The fire was reported allegedly due to a short circuit in the vehicle’s engine. Before the fire engulfed the vehicle entirely, the driver managed to remove 21 boxes from the cargo area. However, remaining boxes were gutted into fire. Quick response teams and firefighters swiftly arrived at the scene to contain the fire, preventing it from spreading it further.
The traffic movement on the expressway was halted for sometime after the incident. The rescue teams later removed the pickup vehicle from the road after dousing the fire and the road was opened for vehicular movement.
