Veer Yatra launches Republic Day Parade & Konkan Sailing Tours

India, 19th November,2016: Every citizen of India, grows up seeing the Republic Day Parade in Delhi on TV every year on 26th January. As all of us know, its a huge attraction and draws many visitors from in & around Delhi and is a virtual show-case of India’s military might. Every NCC cadet’s goal is to be part of this parade!! With a tradition to invite selected world leaders to preside over the parade every year, it’s an honour for world leaders to be at the event too!

Now, all of us citizens from around the country have a chance to watch the Parade Live, on a 1 km screen! Veer Yatra – Military Tourism, a division of MESCO (Maharashtra Ex-Servicemen Corporation), a Govt. of Maharashtra Undertaking, is making this opportunity available to all Indian Citizens from around the country. Imagine yourself at Rajpath, on a cool winter morning, watching the Parade live from the stands.
 
MESCO’s Ex-Servicemen Tour Leads will take you on a tour of a lifetime – the sites of Delhi, Agra and the Republic Day Parade right up to the Beating the Retreat Ceremony. Soak in the life of our Defence Forces, learn all about the planning, logistics, protocol and the meticulous execution of the Parade from the men who organize and manage this grand spectacle! Visit many other places in Delhi and Agra with the men who have served our country with distinction and get an adrenalin rush and goose bumps on the sites, history and awe inspiring sights.
 
Konkan Sailing Odyssey
India’s long coastlines (7,500+ km), have seldom been explored by its own citizens while the rest of the world (from Arabs to Europeans) explored our country from the seas! Imagine a birds-eye view of the Western Ghats back-drop, as you learn sailing and set out on your own voyage of discovery – from Varsoli Beach (Alibag), up to Harihareshwar and then sail up the Savitri river and anchor in the middle of the river to be welcomed by our Veer Yatra team for a party under the starry skies!
Do you have the stomach for a maritime adventure? Learn all about boats and yachts, sailing techniques, maritime terms, winds and tides, navigation, sailing at night and the wonders of the winds! A journey that will take you down the 100+ nautical miles along the coast! Enjoy the breeze, fish in the oceans and learn to sail the Seabird Class of Boats to your destination – helped by your very own veteran captain. Learn about the navy, our coastal waters and the men of the coast guard and the navy who guard our seas! And learn survival skills at sea and experience the salt spray under the blazing sun.
 
The Men behind the Sail
Each Seabird Class Yacht will have 4 PAX and an experienced veteran sailor to steer it along and share his sailing experiences. The voyage of discovery is being led by Col. Srinivas, a veteran ex-serviceman who has been part of India’s Antarctic missions, led sailing trips from Mumbai to Lakshadweep and back and has been a part of India’s Special Forces! Learn all about sailing – from this team as one member of the team will be on each Seabird Class yacht that will take you on your voyage of discovery.
Veer Yatra was launched in May this year and has Military Tourism products for all ages and interests – Baal Veer Yatra tours for children to introduce them to Military Life, Adventures & Forts tours for the adventure seekers, Veer Parades – the NDA, IMA Passing Out Parades, Republic Day Parade and Religious Yatras to Amarnath and CharDham – all in Military Style, conducted by India’s veterans & ex-servicemen.
