What is Varicose Veins?

Varicose veins are superficial veins that have become enlarged and twisted. Typically they occur just under the  skin. 

Mechanism of Affection

Weak or damaged valves in the veins, which cause inability to pump blood up and pools in the lower limb (Legs). 

SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS 

RISK FACTORS

  1. Obesity
  2. Lack of physical exercise
  3. Standing for long durations
  4. Leg trauma
  5. Pregnancy

TREATMENT

As varicose veins is an irreversible condition, the damage occurred to the veins can’t be reversed completely but the further damage can be prevented and the basic and most effective treatment for varicose veins is:

  1. Calf Stretching
  2. Hamstring stretching
