Upcoming OTT Releases To Watch This Week: Crime, Comedy, Drama, and More

Pune, 8th July 2024: The OTT (Over-The-Top) space is bustling with diverse releases this week, offering viewers a mix of crime, comedy, drama, and romance. With the successful release of “Mirzapur 3” under Excel Entertainment, fans are in for more exciting content. New shows and films starring popular actors like Emraan Hashmi and Riteish Deshmukh are set to debut, ensuring there’s something for everyone.

“Commander Karan Saxena” marks Gurmeet Choudhary’s debut as a RAW agent on Disney Plus Hotstar, releasing on July 8. The series promises action-packed entertainment, showcasing Choudhary in a new avatar. Following this, Netflix will release “Eva Lasting-2” on July 10, a comedy-drama about a girl named Eva Samar who navigates life as the first female student in a boys’ school.

“Receiver,” another Netflix release on July 10, is an 8-episode sports drama highlighting the struggles and triumphs of five athletes both on and off the field. The same day, “Wild Wild Punjab,” featuring Varun Sharma and Sunny Singh, will debut, portraying the unexpected adventures of four friends in Punjab.

For animation enthusiasts, “Sausage Party: Foodtopia” premieres on Amazon Prime on July 11. This sequel to the 2016 film follows Frank and his friends as they seek human help to save their home, “Foodtopia.” Additionally, Netflix’s “Vikings: Valhalla Season 3” also releases on July 11, focusing on the Vikings’ quest to find their homeland amidst conflicts with the descendants of the original English.

“36 Days,” streaming on Sony Liv from July 12, delves into the eerie occurrences surrounding a tenant who endangers her landlord’s family. Riteish Deshmukh stars in “Pill,” released on Jio Cinema on July 12, a film exposing corruption in the pharmaceutical industry. Deshmukh plays Dr. Prakash, a character determined to reveal the truth about a deadly medicine.

“Showtime: Season 1 – Part 2,” featuring Emraan Hashmi, Mahima Makwana, and Mouni Roy, will be available on Disney Plus Hotstar on July 12. This series explores the dark realities behind the glamour world. Lastly, Sonakshi Sinha’s horror-comedy “Kakuda” debuts on Zee5 on July 12, following the story of a supernatural being named Kakuda.
