Union Minister for HRD, Shri Prakash Javadekar inaugurates the new wing of Jai Hind High School Building in Pune

Pune, June 15, 2018The new building of Jai Hind High School, a granted educational institution run by Jai Hind Sindhu Educational Trust was officially inaugurated today by the Honourable Union Minister for HRD – Shri Prakash Javadekar. Other dignitaries present at the event were Mr. Nitin Kalje, Mayor, Mrs. Shaileja More, Dy. Mayor, Mrs. Mamta Gaikwad, Standing Committee Chairman, Shri Anil Shirole, Member of Parliament, Shri Amar Sable, Member of Parliament, Shri Shrirang Appa Barne, Member of Parliament and Shri Girish Bapat, Guardian Minister, Pune Dist. The inaugural ceremony was hosted by Mrs. Nalini Gera, President and other key Trustees of the Jai Hind Sindhu Education Trust.

Expressing immense pride on the inauguration of the new wing of the school, Mrs. Nalini Gera, President, JHSET said, “Our dream has finally turned into a reality. The selfless efforts and contributions of so many people over the years have borne fruit and paid off. The renovated building with better infrastructure and educational facilities will tremendously benefit our students. We wish to give the best to our students and this new premise is another milestone that we have achieved in our journey towards imparting knowledge and creating future leaders. It is indeed our endeavour to make sure that all children have access to better education and consider it as our prime duty to help students evolve into better human beings tapping their hidden reservoir of potential to its maximal extent.”

Shri Prakash Javadekar, Union Minister for HRD said, “Education is a fundamental right of each and every individual in this country and I am extremely happy to see the way Jai Hind High School in Pune is contributing towards this cause. I would like to applaud the trustees, principal and teachers for the commendable work done and results achieved so far. Jai Hind High School has created a benchmark and is leading by example. The government has launched multiple schemes like operation Digital for improving school education and developing innovative skills amongst students and I assure you that the students of Jai Hind High School will benefit from these too.”

He encouraged the students to participate in outdoor games and further stressed “Government will allot grant of 5000 to 20,000 Rupees for the sports equipment’s of the schools to support the initiative Khelega India, Khilega India.” He further added “Woman participation in social progress is very important as woman consist of three important qualities of compassion, consistency and courage we makes them unique and strong.”

Jai Hind Sindhu Education Trust has come far in achieving its objectives of selflessly serving the society. The school ensures that the student don’t rote learn their syllabus, but, internalize and inculcate the concepts so that they can find real world applications of the fundamentals they have been taught in classrooms. The students are regularly exposed to a plethora of activities such as cultural festivals, processions, yoga sessions, sports meet and public speaking activities such as debates, elocution and speeches. By participating in such activities, kids build a vibrant and exuberant personality. The institute acts as a centre for Secondary School Certificate(SSC), Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC), and other equivalent examinations. The school has 4500 students enrolled in 5th grade to 12th grade.

The trust was established back in 1955 by a group of Sindhi ladies who were displaced due to partition in the year 1947, started social work in the direction of imparting education to children of displaced families. Today, the trust is known as Jai Hind Sindhu Education Trust which strives to bring together students from different strata of society and raise them to be a part of unified national conscience, with a broad outlook.
