Two Tourists from Maharashtra Killed in Pahalgam Terror Attack, CM Fadnavis Condemns Incident

Mumbai, 22nd April 2025: Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis strongly condemned the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, which claimed the lives of two tourists from the state and left two others injured.

“I strongly condemn the cowardly terrorist attack in Pahalgam. My heartfelt condolences to those who lost their lives in this incident. We share in the grief of their families and relatives. I pray to God that those injured in this incident recover soon,” said Fadnavis in a statement issued on Tuesday evening.

The attack took place in Baisaran Valley, a popular tourist destination in Pahalgam, where terrorists opened fire on a group of visitors. According to preliminary information provided by the Jammu and Kashmir administration, two tourists from Maharashtra – Dilip Disle and Atul Mone – were killed in the firing.

Chief Minister Fadnavis said the Maharashtra government is in constant touch with senior officials in Jammu and Kashmir. “We also called up the Divisional Commissioner of Kashmir, Vijay Kumar Bidri, under whose jurisdiction Pahalgam falls, and inquired about the situation,” he said.

Providing an update on the injured, Fadnavis added, “According to the information given by the local administration, two people from Maharashtra have been injured in this terrorist attack. One of them is Manik Patel from Panvel, and the other is S. Bhalchandra Rao. Fortunately, the condition of both of them is stable.”

Security has been heightened in the area and an investigation into the incident is underway.

The Maharashtra government has assured all possible assistance to the families of the victims and the injured.
