Two Men Arrested for Violent Attack on On-Duty Policeman in Pune
Pune, 10th July 2024: A policeman was brutally beaten on Sinhagad Road, highlighting the growing crime rates in the Dhayari area of Pune. The attack occurred at Kolhewadi Phata, where two individuals assaulted an on-duty policeman.
The assailants, identified as Mangesh Shivaji Phadke and Bapu Rohidas Dalvi, have been booked by Haveli Police Station under Pune rural police.
On Sunday, police constable Rishikesh Gaikwad was managing traffic on Sinhagad Road when an argument broke out between him and the two accused. During the altercation, they allegedly questioned his authority, saying, “Who am I? Don’t you know?” The situation escalated quickly, and the two men started assaulting Constable Gaikwad. When another officer arrived to assist Constable Gaikwad, he was also attacked.
A case has been registered against Phadke and Dalvi, and an investigation is underway.
