Two English Medium Residential Schools Approved In Pune District; Focus On Dhangar Community Students

Pune, 28th October 2023: In a significant development for education in Pune district, approval has been granted for the establishment of two English medium schools.

 

Resident Deputy Collector Jyoti Kadam, presiding over a district-level committee meeting for the implementation of various schemes of the social justice and special assistance department and the other backward Bahujan welfare department, suggested taking steps to facilitate the admission of students from the Dhangar community to these residential schools.

 

During the committee meeting, which saw the presence of Assistant Commissioner of Social Welfare Department Vishal Londhe, Kadam emphasized the need to prioritize the admission of Dhangar community students to English medium residential schools. The approved institutions include Dattakala International School and Junior College located in Chincholi, Daund taluka, and Sri Venkateswara English Medium School situated in Walchandnagar, Indapur taluka.

 

Apart from discussing educational initiatives, Kadam urged a comprehensive review of crimes filed under the Schedule Caste and Scheduled Tribe (Prevention of Atrocities) Act and the examination of pending cases. She emphasized the responsibility of district-level committee members and non-governmental participants to actively contribute to the effective implementation of all departmental schemes.
