Two Dead in Pimpri Chinchwad Road Accidents, Police Pursue Reckless Drivers

Pimpri Chinchwad, 18th June 2024: The alarming surge in road accidents continues unabated, with two recent incidents claiming lives in Pimpri Chinchwad. Cases related to these incidents have been registered at Mahalunge MIDC and Sangvi Police Stations, while the perpetrators remain at large.

The first incident occurred within Mahalunge Police Station’s jurisdiction on Sunday, 16th June, at 11 PM. Sonu Ranjit Patel, a 19-year-old pedestrian, lost his life when he was struck from behind by a recklessly driven four-wheeler. His friend Kusha Patel lodged a complaint at the Police Station, leading to the registration of a case against the unidentified driver for death by negligence and rash driving. Police Sub Inspector Kale is currently investigating the matter.

The second accident occurred near Sangvi Phata within Sangvi Police Station’s jurisdiction on 2nd June, approximately 16 days ago. In this incident, 33-year-old Pradeep Balu Sanas, a resident of Mumbai, succumbed to severe injuries sustained during the accident after a battle in the hospital. Pradeep was riding with his friend Suraj Vitthal Badle, 26 years old and a resident of Thergaon when the accident occurred. Police Constable Vikas Malvi reported the incident to Sangvi Police Station, resulting in a case being filed against Badle for death by negligence and rash driving. Police Sub Inspector Kadam is overseeing the investigation into this incident.
