Trailer Overturns On Pune-Nashik Highway, Causes Traffic Jam For Four Hours
Manchar, 5th May 2023: A 40-foot long trailer (HR 47 C 2318) overturned in the middle of the Pune-Nashik national highway at Bhorwadi-Avasari Khurd (Ta. Ambegaon) on Friday morning at around 7 am. The incident caused a four-hour traffic jam on the busy highway that connects Pune and Nashik. Vehicles on both sides of the highway were stuck for nearly a kilometer.
The local police immediately started traffic control operations and managed to reduce the traffic jam to some extent. However, the overturned trailer continued to block one side of the highway until late morning. The accident caused a loud noise that was heard by nearby residents.
Several citizens, including Dinesh Khude, Shubham Khude, Shailesh Bhor, Banti Bhor, Sameer Bhor, Praveen Bhor, Dipak Bhor, rushed to the accident site to help the police. Fortunately, the driver of the trailer was not injured in the accident, but the incident caused significant damage to the trailer and its cargo.
Local residents informed the Manchar police about the accident, and the police inspector Satish Hodgar immediately dispatched a team of police officers to the scene. The team included police naik Tukaram More, Hemant Madke, Somjit Gawari, Avinash Dalvi, Abhishek Kawade, and Dhanesh Mandale. They managed to control the traffic and clear the debris from the accident site, which helped in resuming the traffic on the highway.
The overturned trailer caused a significant delay for commuters traveling from Pune to Nashik and vice versa. The incident highlights the importance of regular maintenance of vehicles and adherence to safety guidelines while driving on highways.
