Lonavala, 4th December 2023: A scheduled two-hour block is set to take place on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway tomorrow (5th December) in the Khandala area. The interruption is necessitated by the installation of gantries at km 50/000 and km 47/120 as part of the ITMS project.

As a result, all traffic on the Mumbai-bound lanes will come to a complete halt during this period. The administration has announced that heavy vehicles will be directed to stop at the Urse Toll Plaza and on the shoulder lane. For cars, the alternative route from km 55 Lonavala exit via the Old Pune Mumbai Highway – Anda Point will be accessible.

With the second day of the week witnessing a heavy influx of vehicles on the expressway, passengers planning to travel to Mumbai should consider the block times for a smoother journey.

In recent days, intermittent blocks have been imposed to facilitate the installation of gantries on the highway, causing inconvenience to passengers and citizens alike. The two-hour block on Tuesday is expected to result in traffic congestion during the afternoon. In light of this, citizens are earnestly requested to refrain from venturing out during this period.

For those traveling from Pune to Mumbai, an early morning departure is recommended to reach Mumbai before the commencement of the block, ensuring a more convenient and efficient journey.
