Traffic Advisory for New Year Celebrations near Dagdusheth Ganpati Mandir in Pune

Pune, 30th December 2023: As the city gears up to welcome the New Year, the Dagdusheth Ganpati Mandir area in Pune is expected to witness a surge in visitors. To ensure smooth traffic flow and manage the influx of people, the Traffic Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Vijaykumar Magar has issued instructions for temporary traffic changes in the vicinity of the Dagdusheth Ganpati Mandir.

The following traffic changes will be implemented from 5:00 a.m. on January 1, 2024, until the crowd disperses:

1. Closed Route: The road leading towards Swargate from Shivaji Road is closed.
– Alternate Route: Vehicles should turn from SG Barve Chowk towards Jangali Maharaj (JM) Road – Khanduji Baba Chowk – Tilak Chowk – Tilak Road to reach their destination.

2. Closed Route: The road going towards Pune Municipal Corporation’s main building from SG Barve Chowk.
– Alternate Route: From SG Barve Chowk, vehicles should proceed to JM Road, turn left from Jhansi Rani Laxmibai Chowk, and continue to their destination.

3. Closed Route: The road going to Budhwar Chowk from Appa Balwant Chowk (ABC Chowk) is closed.
– Alternate Route: Vehicles should use Bajirao Road to reach their intended destinations.

4. Closed Route: The road to Daruwala Bridge from Shivaji Road – Jijamata Chowk – Ganesh Road is closed.
– Alternate Route: Vehicles should turn left from Kumbharves Chowk – Pawale Chowk – Old Sat Toti Police Chowki to reach their destination.

5. Closed Route: The road to go to Jijamata Chowk from Ganesh Road – Devjibaba is closed.
– Alternate Route: Vehicle drivers should go from Apollo Theatre – Narpatgiri Chowk – Daruwala Bridge – Dudhbhatti.

It is important to note that these changes exclude emergency vehicles such as fire brigade, police vehicles, and ambulances. Citizens are urged to cooperate, use alternate routes, and plan their travel accordingly during the specified period to ensure a hassle-free celebration and smooth traffic movement in the area.
