Tourist Bus Plunges into Valley in Dang District, Gujarat: Two Children Killed

Dang, 9th July 2024: In Gujarat, two children lost their lives when a tourist bus carrying over 60 passengers plunged into the Satpura ghat of Dang district. The accident occurred on Sunday (7th July). A video capturing the moment of the accident has surfaced on social media, filmed by a passenger who was recording the scenery outside his window.

The tourist bus met with a severe accident at Satpura Ghat in Dang district of Gujarat on Sunday evening. The bus driver lost control while attempting to overtake a truck, resulting in the bus falling into the valley. This area is renowned for its scenic beauty and attracts numerous tourists, especially during the monsoon season.

The incident took place on the Saputara-Malegam National Highway Ghat, approximately 2 km from Saputara, a popular tourist destination near the Nashik district border. Upon receiving the report, Saputara police and rescue teams promptly responded to the scene. Several injured passengers were rescued and immediately transported to the nearest hospital.

The bus had departed from Surat Chowk Bazar bound for Saputara earlier that Sunday morning and was returning to Surat when the accident occurred during an overtaking manoeuvre to avoid an oncoming tempo. The bus collided with the safety barrier before plummeting into the valley.

Rescue operations are ongoing as authorities work diligently to ensure the safety of all passengers involved in this tragic incident.
