Lucknow, 31st July 2024: Lucknow experienced torrential rains on Tuesday and Wednesday, resulting in severe waterlogging and flooding across the capital of Uttar Pradesh, India’s most populous state. The downpour impacted civilians and politicians alike, a rare occurrence in the city.

A viral video on social media captured water entering the UP assembly on Wednesday, necessitating the evacuation of UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath through gate no 1.

Footage showed waterlogged conditions inside the assembly and at its entrance.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had to be escorted out through an alternative gate to avoid the inconvenience of wading through floodwaters.

The heavy rainfall caused extensive waterlogging in several areas, including the main Hazratganj crossing, creating challenges for residents.

Many parts of the city were affected by flooding and waterlogged conditions.

Assembly workers were seen using buckets to remove rainwater that had seeped inside, but the situation remained dire within the UP assembly and throughout Lucknow.
