Today’s Voting Begins in Maval Lok Sabha Constituency: Over 26 Lakh Voters Expected to Participate

Maval, 13th May 2024: Voting commenced today in the Maval Lok Sabha Constituency during the fourth phase. A total of 26 lakh voters are expected to exercise their rights across 2,566 polling stations.

Maval Lok Sabha Constituency, divided between Pune and Raigad districts, comprises 6 Vidhan Sabha Constituencies: Panvel, Karjat, Uran, Maval, Chinchwad, and Pimpri. The constituency boasts 25,85,018 voters, including 13,49,184 male voters, 12,35,661 female voters, and 173 transgender voters. With 33 candidates in the fray, the voting process will unfold across 2,566 centres.

Breakdown by polling stations reveals 549 in Chinchwad, 400 in Pimpri, 390 in Maval, 544 in Panvel, 339 in Karjat, and 344 in Uran. Maval Lok Sabha Constituency accommodates a total of 9,236 ballot units, alongside 11,368 polling officers and staff appointed at the centres. Additionally, 83 micro-inspectors have been stationed at sensitive polling stations.

Prohibition of Carrying Mobile Phones within 100-Meter Area:

Voters must have an identity voter slip when voting. A voter must present an original copy of at least one of the documents prescribed by the Election Commission of India. Maval Lok Sabha Constituency Returning Officer Deepak Singla has clearly instructed that soft copies in digital lockers will not be accepted as proof of identity. Additionally, there is a ban on carrying mobile phones within 100 meters of the polling station, and he appeals to everyone not to bring a mobile phone within this range.
