Pune, 6th June 2024: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a nowcast warning at 2:30 PM IST today, alerting residents of several districts in Maharashtra about imminent thunderstorms.
According to the IMD, thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and light to moderate rainfall, along with gusty winds reaching speeds of 40-50 kmph, are expected to hit isolated areas in the districts of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar, Solapur, Dharashiv, Kolhapur, and Pune within the next 3-4 hours.
Residents in these regions are advised to take necessary precautions while moving outdoors. The IMD’s Mumbai office emphasized the potential hazards posed by the gusty winds and lightning, urging people to stay indoors if possible and to secure loose objects that could be blown away.
