Three persons killed in accident on Expressway

Pune : Three persons including ‘Sharad Pawar’ of Warje, who is big fan of NCP supremo Sharad Pawar and another man who popularised Paan shops in Pune, were killed in an accident on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway.

The incident took place near Kamshet tunnel when the i-20 car they were travelling in rammed into the divider. Police suspect that the accident took place after the driver dozed off.

The deceased have been identified as Amit Shrikant Sulebhaliwar (29) of Yamunagar in Nigdi, Santosh Suresh Udawant (38), also known as Shirdikar, of Karvenagar in Pune, and Sharad Krishnarao Pawar (35), a resident of Warje.

They had gone for a meeting in Mumbai.

Sharad Pawar owned a security agency, Alert Security Force, in Pune.   He has named his daughter as Supriya and son as Ajit.

Udawant owned Naad Nutritious Pvt Ltd, which owned several Paan boutiques in Pune under the brand of Naad Paan. Sulebhaliwar was owner of  Naad Paan stall in Nigdi. Udwant had popularised paan in a big through interesting concoctions — Ice Paan, Naad Special, Sangeeta Ayurvedic Paan, Manse Paan — apart from the Masala, Saada and Magai variety. He had opened five branches exclusively selling paans in the city.
