Three Missing Schoolgirls Found in Kalyan Thanks to Pune Police’s Swift Action

Bibwewadi, 5th September 2024: Three schoolgirls who went missing from the Bibwewadi area were found due to the prompt action of the Pune Police. The Bibwewadi police initiated an investigation upon receiving information about the girl’s disappearance. When it was learned that the girls were in Kalyan, Thane District, they were taken into custody and returned to their parents. The three girls, who all live in Bibwewadi and are friends, went out for grocery shopping on 2nd September. They then proceeded towards VIT College but did not return home, causing their parents to panic.

A police complaint was lodged after girls, aged 12 and 15, went missing. The police quickly began their investigation, circulating the girls’ photographs among all police stations and questioning their friends. A technical investigation revealed that the girls were in the Ambivli area of Kalyan. The Khadakpada Police Station in Thane was notified, and the photos of the girls were sent to their station. The girls were then found by the Khadakpada Police, and the Bibwewadi police team subsequently travelled to Kalyan to bring them back to Pune.

Pune City Commissioner of Police Amitesh Kumar praised the police for their swift action. The operation was led by Bibwewadi Police Station’s Senior Police Inspector Mangal Modhave, Inspector (Crime) Manoj Kumar Londhe, Assistant Police Inspector Vidya Sawant, and Sub-Inspector Ashok Yewale, Vishal Jadhav, Prateek Karanje, and Varsha Thombare.
