Three Dead in Separate Road Accidents Across Pune, Including Senior Citizen on Paud Road

Pune, 13th September 2024: In multiple accidents across Pune, three people, including a senior citizen, have died. These incidents occurred on Paud Road, Balewadi, and Ahmednagar Highway.

On Paud Road, a senior citizen died after colliding with a speeding two-wheeler. The deceased, identified as 65-year-old Balasaheb Lakshman Tanpure (a resident of Paud Road, Kothrud), was crossing the road in front of Sushrut Surgical Hospital when a speeding bike struck him. He was seriously injured and admitted to a private hospital, where he later died during treatment. Amit Tanpure (age 39) has filed a complaint at Kothrud Police Station, and Assistant Police Inspector RR Adagale is leading the investigation.

In the Balewadi area, a young pedestrian, approximately 35 to 40 years old, was killed in a collision with a speeding dumper. The identity of the deceased has not yet been established. A case has been registered against the dumper driver, who fled the scene, and police officer Sachin Birangal has lodged a complaint at Chaturshringi Police Station. Assistant Police Inspector Dadaraje Pawar is handling the investigation.

In another accident, a pedestrian was killed near Pimpri Saandas village on Ahmednagar Highway. The deceased has been identified as 53-year-old Ganesh Maruti Waykar, a resident of Pimpri Saandas. Waykar was hit by a speeding vehicle two days ago in the evening as he left the Jamdar Wasti area. The driver fled the scene, and a case has been registered against him at Lonikand Police Station. Assistant Police Inspector Nilesh Ghorpade is investigating the case.
