Three Arrested for Stabbing Senior Citizen Over Alleged Witchcraft in Pune

Sahakar Nagar, 22nd June 2024: The Sahakar Nagar Police have arrested three individuals in connection with the stabbing of a senior citizen in Pune. The accused attacked the senior citizen, suspecting him of practising witchcraft and allegedly offering a bounty of Rs 2 lakh to have him killed.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Sagar Satish Kumbhar (41), Tauras Balu Karle (43), both residents of Bibwewadi, and Sagar Shashikant Sonar (32), a resident of Padmavati Nagar. The injured senior citizen, Sonu Pandu Hode (67), resides in Padmavati Nagar and was attacked with a sharp weapon on 15th June.

Hode sustained serious injuries in the incident, prompting an investigation by the Sahakar Nagar Police over the past few days. The breakthrough came when the Sahakar Nagar Police Station’s Detection Branch received information that Sagar Kumbhar, the assailant, was residing in the Upper Indira Nagar area. Kumbhar was detained, and during interrogation, he confessed to the police that he had attacked Hode on the orders of Sagar Sonar.
