The Kalyani School, Pune presented Our Indian Legacy ‘Mad About Heritage’

Pune, February 04, 2017: The Kalyani School, Pune in academic collaboration with The Shri Ram School and Shri Educare, Delhi today, organized “Mad About Heritage”- a first of its kind mega fete, depicting Our Indian Legacy. The Chief Guest for the function was Mr. Mushtak Shaikh, the Education Officer, Pune Zilla Parishad.

The primary objective of this initiative was to take the learning out of the confines of text books and classrooms and enable the students to learn, explore and appreciate the fascinating heritage that has gained immense importance today owing to significant life style changes.

Mrs. Deekhsha Kalyani, Director, The Kalyani School commented on the occasion, “We are delighted to present ‘Mad About Heritage’ by our students. I am extremely proud and overwhelmed by the efforts and dedication put in by the students, staff and parents for this day. We at the The Kalyani School have made an effort to create awareness in our students and feel proud of our heritage. Such events give the students an opportunity to showcase their skills.”

The “Mad About” is a popular series of Events initiated by the ‘Shri Community’. The signature event covers all the necessary aspects of life (Mad About Heritage, Mad About Health and Wellness, Mad About Science, Mad About India, etc.).

The students of the school researched about the various topics, made presentations, charts, art and artifacts and exhibited them in stalls at the fete. Every grade worked on different topics of interest ranging from Old Folk Tales and Toys; Monuments; Tribes of India; Great Achievers, etc.

The event was packed with entertainment, music and dance, not only by the students of the school but also experts and professionals. Along with individual stalls, the day long fair witnessed participation and presence of various NGOs, Corporate entities, The Gallery (display of the Art work done by the children), The Manch (A small cultural program), The Bazaar (Shops set up by Artists and Artisans to demonstrate their skills), The Food Street, Puppet Show, Bullock Cart Ride, Bioscope etc.

The event was a laudable one and has been able to sensitize not only the children, but, also the adults, about the immense possibilities that India offers; and the responsibility each one has, as an Indian to respect and preserve it.
