Swiggy Introduces Incognito Mode for Private, Record-Free Ordering

New Delhi, 6th September 2024: Swiggy, a leading convenience platform in India, has unveiled its latest feature: Incognito Mode. This new addition allows users to place food and quick commerce orders privately, ensuring they do not appear in their order history. Whether it’s a surprise gift or a personal purchase, users can now enjoy a hassle-free experience without manually deleting their order records.

With many Swiggy accounts being shared among family members or friends, not all orders are meant to be visible to others. Incognito Mode offers a solution, allowing users to keep certain purchases discreet. Whether you’re planning a surprise cake for a birthday, ordering a gift for an anniversary, or buying personal wellness items from Swiggy Instamart, this feature ensures that these orders remain hidden.

“Nowadays, while we share much of our lives, there are still moments we want to keep private,” said Rohit Kapoor, CEO of Swiggy’s Food Marketplace. “Incognito Mode was designed for exactly that purpose—giving our users the confidence to order without worrying about others seeing it. Whether it’s food or quick commerce, users can enjoy their purchases with the assurance that they’ll remain private.”

The Incognito Mode feature, available on both Swiggy Food and Instamart, is particularly beneficial for private purchases, such as personal wellness products. With just a toggle, users can ensure that their orders won’t be saved in the app’s history. This gives customers peace of mind that their selections remain unseen by anyone who shares their account.

To activate Incognito Mode, users simply toggle the feature in their cart before placing an order. Once enabled, a notification confirms that the mode is active. After the order is delivered, users can track it for up to three hours for any post-delivery needs. Beyond that, the order is automatically hidden from the history, ensuring total privacy.

Initially, Incognito Mode is being made available to 10% of Swiggy’s user base, with plans to expand access to all customers in the near future.

This latest feature is part of Swiggy’s ongoing efforts to enhance user experience. Recent additions include Group Ordering, Eatlists, and Similar Carts, all designed to make ordering on Swiggy more personalized and convenient.
