The Bombay High Court has given sunburn a clean chit to start the 4 day music festival at Kesnand, Pune starting today, 28th till 31st of December. Sunburn has also received all necessary permissions from all authorities. Additionally Percept Live has received a no-objection certificate (NOC) from Pune rural police and the Pune collector and has cleared the entertainment tax. All permissions and certifications from the fire department, NOCs for venue, food and health, police, and foreign artiste have been availed. They have paid the bandobust fee to the police, who have made arrangements at the festival site to avert any untoward incident.

Mr. Harindra Singh, Managing Director, Percept Limited states, “We are very excited to unveil the anniversary celebrations of our iconic brand Sunburn. Over the years we have seen 40% of representation from Maharashtra at the annual festival and hence Pune was the most logical option because of excellent infrastructural amenities and an emergent music culture. We have received an encouraging response from the student and expat community from Pune and the surrounding areas. We are expecting close a good response  over a period of 4 days with several fans flying in from different parts of the world, specially Europe, Middle East and South East Asia.

Jay Jadhav, Superintendent Of Police, Pune Rural, said that police have issued the NOC after carrying out checks. “Nothing objectionable was found. The NOC was issued.”

According to recent reports the Goa government faced a 50% slump in tourism with the exit of Sunburn this year from the state.   Sunburn has contributed Rs. 800 crores to Goa state revenue of which about 200 crores went to the government treasury. Currently the Goa government owes close to 9 crores to Percept Live.

In the wake of rumours of Sunburn being banned in Goa Mr. Singh adds, “Goa has benefitted multifold from Sunburn. Infact the Goa government owes us money. These rumours are baseless and untrue. We are certain  that the government must have noticed some merit in the festival and hence we were allowed to host the festival in Goa for a long period of time. We exited Goa because of high administrative costs and infrastructural  constraints. We have contributed to tourism in Goa over the years and we hope to now put Pune on the world music map through our global fan imprint and undisputed brand legacy. We thank the people of Kesnand and surrounding areas for their support and cooperation and also all the government agencies for their guidance and support.

The event is supported by department of tourism, government of Maharashtra. With an emphasis on safety and security, the new abode will imbibe over 200 CCTV cameras monitored by the police department, 50 sniffer dogs and 2,500 security personnel and a dedicated medical team. Sunburn 10 will start at 12noon and end at 10pm and ensure minimal damage to the environment.  Banned substances will not be permitted inside the venue upholding Sunburn’s policy of zero tolerance towards narcotics.

Sunburn 10 will feature 150 plus artists with headliners like Afrojack, Armin van Buuren, Axwell Ingrosso, KSHMR, Dimitri Vegas Like Mike and 5 stages including two internationals stages – Monstercat and District808. With one of the largest camping sites in India, Sunburn 10 will encompass  adventure sports, food and sopping experiences apart from music.
