Pune, 10th June 2024: Baramati MP Supriya Sule from the Sharad Pawar-led Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) addressed the press today, discussing various issues, including the allocation of a Union Ministry to the Pune MP, Sunil Tatkare being overlooked for a ministerial position, and Yugendra Pawar becoming an MLA.

Regarding Murlidhar Mohol’s appointment to a Union Ministry, Sule emphasized, “The advantage should be for Pune, not for contractors.” On Sunil Tatkare not receiving a ministry under Ajit Pawar’s leadership, Sule stated, “Why should I delve into someone else’s home?”

Regarding the discussions about Yugendra Pawar becoming an MLA, Sule responded, “I don’t have any information about that, as I was in Delhi. It may have been discussed.”

Sule informed, “Yesterday, in Delhi, the working committee held a meeting where the roadmap for the next 25 years was discussed. The focus was on enhancing the organization’s power in the state and country. We are thankful for the support from our activists and voters. Our party activists remained steadfast in their commitment, and we are proud of them.”

She continued, “The people and activists rejected the idea of ’50 Khokhe’ (boxes) and refused to succumb to the other party’s display of monetary power. In October, Ravindra Dhangekar will be re-elected as an MLA. He has demonstrated that by doing good work, injustice can be countered, as seen in the Pune Porsche case.”

Sule remarked, “Pune lacks effective administration, resulting in its current condition. Known as the Oxford of the East, Pune attracts people and students from across the country. However, recent incidents have tarnished Pune’s reputation. The situation in Pune is a result of government negligence. The NCP should take to the streets to oppose crime. Since the election results, I have been silent as my responsibilities have increased. We will ensure that investments in Pune stay within the city. A meeting of the Mahratta Chamber of Commerce, Industries, and Agriculture will be held for this purpose, with precautions taken to prevent job losses.”

Regarding banners advocating for the merger of the two NCPs, Sule remarked, “Banners do not govern the country. Our focus will be on addressing drought, crime, and preparing for Vidhan Sabha elections. We hope that all farmer loans will be waived off. Additionally, the incident in Jammu is tragic, and we hope that those affected may rest in peace. It is unprecedented to witness a terrorist attack while the Prime Minister is taking the oath of office.”
