Sugarcane Contractor Kidnapped in Pune’s Hadapsar Area; Police Launch Manhunt

Hadapsar, 10th June 2024: A contractor who supplies sugarcane laborers to farmers has been kidnapped in Pune’s Hadapsar area. The Hadapsar Police have filed a case against two individuals, Bappa (a resident of Latur) and Vikram Jadhav (also a resident of Latur). Surekha Rajendra Chavan (37 years old, a resident of Manjari) filed the complaint at the Hadapsar Police Station.

According to police reports, the complainant’s husband, Rajendra Chavan, is a contractor who supplies laborers to farmers, particularly for sugarcane farming. Bappa allegedly paid Rajendra Rs. 3 lakh for laborers, but Rajendra failed to provide them, resulting in Bappa and Jadhav’s anger. The accused assaulted Rajendra in Mantri Market, Hadapsar, and kidnapped him in a car. They are currently on the run.

The complainant states that the accused have abducted Rajendra and are detaining him at an unknown location. Senior Police Inspector Santosh Pandhare of Hadapsar Police Station is leading the investigation.
