Students To Get Concession In Pune Metro Ticket Fare, Other Commuters To Also Get Concession On Weekends
Pune 28th July 2023: As the Maha Metro receives clearance to run commercial operations on the extended routes in Pune, the Metro has announced concessions for students and citizens in the city to encourage commuters to use Pune Metro. The official launch of the two routes between Civil Court to Pimpri Chinchwad Metro Station and Garware College to Ruby Hall Clinic is likely to take place on August 1 with the hands of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
According to Metro officials, 30% concession in ticket fare will be given to the students for all days while other commuters will also be eligible for the concession on weekends. They will pay 30% less ticket fare on Saturday and Sunday. The ticket fare for journey between Vanaz and Ruby Hall Clinic will be Rs 25 while ticket fare between Civil Court and Pimpri Chinchwad Metro Station will be Rs 20, said officials.
The Metro will operate between 7 am and 10 pm every day and the train will be available for commuters after every 10 minutes during peak hours and 15 minutes during the normal hours. A total of 11 trains will operate on these routes, said Metro officials.
It may be noted that the two lanes of Pune Metro between Vanaz and Garware College Metro Station and Pimpri Chinchwad to Phugewadi Metro Station were inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on March 6 last year. He is visiting Pune on August 1 to receive Lokmanya Tilak Award and during his visit he is likely to inaugurate the two extended routes of Metro.
