Soudagar brothers emerge champions in Offroad Carnival in Pune

Punekar News's photo.Mumbai based Faisal Soudagar and his brother Imran Soudagar who were the driver and co driver emerged as the overall winners in petrol class omaxlink annual OFFROAD CARNIVAL in Pune organised by Pune path finders.

Vehicles used for offroading are usually modified with different tyres , suspension components that allow greater axle articulation, and changes in the differential gear ratio in order to obtain characteristics suitable for low speed operation for traversing obstacles. It is common for a offroading vehicle to have a “spotter”, who is an assistant on foot by the vehicle to provide information to the driver about the areas out of sight to the driver. Offroading follows the motto of the survival of the fittest, not only in terms of physical fitness but also mental endurance.

A similar event containing hardship, endurance and extremities was organized by a team of offroaders called Pune path finders at Wagholi on the outskirt of Pune. It took competitors through mud, drenching rain, steep slippery slopes, deep ruts, gullies, flooded rivers, and landslides that are mercilessly demanding and dangerous.

Faisal Soudagar an Automobile engineer by profession and a passionate offroader who builds these offroading Sports Utility Vehicles for such grueling merciless trails participated in this event with his vehicle, a Maruti gypsy king modified for such offroad tracks.

There were 50 vehicles and 100 competitors participating from various parts of India i.e Banglore,Silvasa,Goa,Gulbarga,Gokak,Bijapur,Mumbai,Aurangabad,Ahmednagar etc. There were 13 trails covering a distance of about 500 mtrs which were to be completed within a set speculated time and the fastest across without any penalties would get the maximum points. The Soudagars gypsy finished all these 13 trails filled with obstacles without any major damages and came across as a overall winner in petrol class.
