Software Exporters Association of Pune brings IT industry & government authorities on a common platform

Pune, October 2, 2018: To make IT industry aware of different regulations and incentives offered under the new Maharashtra IT/ITES Policy and to bring awareness regarding Maharashtra Shops & Establishments regulations along with IT related pollution control norms, Software Exporters Association of Pune (SEAP) had organized ‘Industry and State Regulators Summit’. In this summit recently held in Pune, Industry members got a chance to get clarity on their doubts directly from the government authorities for better compliance.

The program was organized by SEAP along with PWC. Over 90 members from IT industry in Pune participated in the event. The authorities like Shailendra Pol, Upper Labor Commissioner, Vishwanath Rajale, Joint Director, Directorate of Industries, Nitin Shinde, Sub-regional officer, Pune-I, Maharashtra Pollution Control Board gave information about different rules & regulations. Vidyadhar Purandare, Secretary, SEAP, Prashant Pansare, Executive Committee member, SEAP, Gaurav Trilokchandani, PWC were present among the dignitaries. Senior representatives of IT companies belonging to Admin, HR and legal fraternity were present.

Shailendra Pol said that the department is working on to remove the unnecessary fear in the minds of industry stakeholders about Labor Laws. ‘‘The government is implementing the policy of ‘Ease of doing business’ and we are also a part of it. It is a good sign that many industry members are coming forward for registration and showing pro-activeness in the compliance of labor laws,’’ added Pol.

Vidyadhar Purandare said, ‘‘Sometimes due to lack of information about different laws, there happens to be some problem in the compliance with few IT companies. Such events will surely help to clarify doubts and resolve problems. SEAP will continue to organize such programs to provide a common platform for productive discussion for industry and authorities.’’

Vishwanath Rajale talked about the benefits of state IT policy while Nitin Shinde explained the MPCB regulations related to IT companies.
