Slum Boy Vikas Cracks CA Exam With Flying Colours
Pune, February 4, 2021: Nothing is impossible if you are determined to achieve your goal. And Vikas Lokhande is one such example of grit and determination. Son of worker Arjun Lokhande, Vikas cracked the Chartered Accountant (CA) examination with flying colours.
Vikas lives in the slum area of Siddharth Nagar in Sahakarnagar, his father is a worker while his mother works as house-maid. A native of Solapur district, the couple came to Pune in search of a job in 1989. They have two sons Vikas and Harshad.
Both the sons completed their education in Solapur but for higher education, Vikas decided to come to Pune. Accordingly, he came here and studied day and night. He ignored the slang and harsh realities of the slum and focused on his studies. He aspired to become CA and started a job with a CA firm at Nana Peth.
Twice he attempted the exam but failed in cracking it. But he did not lose the hopes. And in the third attempt cracked the exam. “We are very happy as our son has realized our dream”, said his elated parents.
The entire slum celebrated his success with banners in the area. The local corporator also felicitated him.
