Pune, September 17, 2020: The Pune Municipal Corporation(PMC) has added 50 more beds at the Jumbo COVID Care centre, located at the College of Engineering Pune(COEP) ground in Shivajinagar, on Wednesday. There are a total of 250 COVID beds in the Jumbo facility now, informed Executive Chairman of Jumbo COVID Hospital Rubal Agarwal.

Pune Mayor Muralidhar Mohol held a review meeting and suggested increasing the number of beds. “More beds should be added at the Jumbo facility to contain the spread of the lethal virus”, he said.

This meeting was also attended by Divisional Commissioner Saurabh Rao, PMC Commissioner Vikram Kumar, and Additional Municipal Commissioner Agarwal. They immediately implemented the mechanism to increase the number of beds, after receiving suggestions from Mohol.

At least 45 oxygen beds and 50 ICU ventilator beds are now operational in the facility. “We have admitted 30 new patients on Wednesday, and a total of 150 patients have been admitted in the last five days”, informed Agarwal.

Agarwal also said that all the COVID19 affected patients would be examined for seven days after their recovery. However, if they are reinfected, they will be treated as well.
