SFA Championships Pune: Symbiosis School’s Neil, Aarya of PICT Model School land long jump gold medals on Day 2

Pune, December 12, 2022: Neil Apte and Aarya Wagh put up vibrant displays to clinch gold medals in the U-14 long jump on Day 2 of the Sports For All (SFA) Championships in Pune on Monday.

 

Neil, representing Symbiosis School, secured the gold with an impressive jump of 4.19m in the boys category. Vidya Pratishthan’s Arth Kamble finished second with a distance of 3.99m while Anwesh Panda of Sanskriti School came third with a distance of 3.59m.

 

Aarya of PICT Model School, on the other hand, bagged gold in the girls section by jumping a distance of 3.28m whereas Diya Koparde of Elpro International School won silver for a jump of 2.82m.

 

Meanwhile, in the other athletics event, Holy Spirit Convent School’s Sai Ghode utilised his quick pace to finish on top of the podium in the boys 50m with a timing of 9.170 seconds. Educon International School’s Abhyuday Singh (9.271secs) and Kendriya Vidyalaya’s Riaan Chavan (9.298 secs) won the silver and bronze medals respectively.

 

India’s leading fully integrated digital plus on-ground multi-sport platform, Sports For All has been organising the first edition of this Olympic-style championship in Pune from December 11 to 17 with 11 sports being played at five venues.

 

The exciting tournament boasts an overall prize pool of close to ₹3 lakh and has been witnessing a total participation of 8,200 from more than 500 schools across Pune.

 

In chess, the girls trio of St. Joseph High School’s Nabha Pujari in the U-7 category, The Orchid School’s Rutu Jamdar in the U-13 category and Vidya Valley School’s Kaavya Arun in the U-15 category, all showcased tremendous technical ability to secure gold medals for their respective schools.
