Seven-Year Manhunt Ends: Pune Rural Police Capture Mithun Banda Kale, Wanted for Murder and Robbery

Pune, 21st September 2024: The local crime branch (LCB) of the Pune Rural Police on Friday arrested notorious criminal Mithun Banda Kale, who had been on the run for seven years. Kale, wanted in connection with murder, robbery, and offences under the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA), was apprehended based on a tip-off from an informant.

The crime branch received information that Kale, an accused in case no. 205/2017 registered at Daund Police Station, was coming to Shrigonda Bazaar. Acting on the tip, the team laid a trap in the marketplace while in plain clothes and successfully detained the suspect. Upon questioning, he revealed his identity as Mithun Banda Kale, a resident of Akoni, Karjat Taluka, Ahmednagar District.

After the arrest, Kale underwent a medical examination and was handed over to the Daund Police Station for further investigation.

This operation was carried out under the supervision of Superintendent of Police Pankaj Deshmukh, Additional Superintendent of Police Ganesh Biradar, and DySP Bappurao Dadas. The arrest was executed by Senior Police Inspector Avinash Shilimkar, Sub-Inspector Rahul Gawde, and team members Sachin Ghadge, Asif Shaikh, Vijay Kanchan, Ajit Bhujbal, Yogesh Nagargoje, and Dheeraj Jadhav.
