Australia, 11th November 2022: No one expected the journey of the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 to end for Team India. Team India crashed out of the tournament after losing by 10 wickets to England in the semi-finals. The Indian team, which won the most matches in the league phase, got all four in the semi-finals. India’s six bowlers could not get even one England batsman out. Meanwhile, seven players of the Indian team are going to return home from Australia, while the rest will go to New Zealand.

After the T20 World Cup 2022, Team India was to go on a tour of New Zealand, for which the team has already been announced. The BCCI had rested some players, while it was decided to send nine players from the 15-member team selected for the T20 World Cup 2022 to New Zealand. This is the reason that a total of seven players, including Indian team captain Rohit Sharma, are going to return to India.

After losing the T20 World Cup, Indian team captain Rohit Sharma, former captain Virat Kohli, opener KL Rahul, wicket-keeper and batsman Dinesh Karthik, spinner R Ashwin, all-rounder Axar Patel and fast bowler Mohammed Shami are going to return home. Out of these, Dinesh Karthik and R Ashwin will rarely be selected in T20 International cricket now. Not only this but the entire coaching staff of Team India will also be changed, as they have also been rested. VVS Laxman and Co will go to New Zealand.

Team India is set to play three T20s and an ODI series of as many matches against New Zealand in November. The 3-match T20 series will start on November 18. The first match of the series will be played in Wellington, while the 3-match ODI series will start in Auckland on 25 November.
