Consequently, the vehicle, along with the 101.31 Kg of the suspected Methaqualone, estimated to have a black market value of approximately Rs. 50.65 Crores, was confiscated by the DRI under the provisions of the NDPS Act, 1985. Five individuals, hailing from Telangana, Maharashtra, Delhi, and Haryana, have been apprehended in connection to the case under the NDPS Act, 1985.

Initial investigations suggest that the detained individuals were involved in the illegal sale, purchase, transportation, and potential export of psychotropic substances. Furthermore, indications point to the possibility of the existence of a wider syndicate operating across multiple states in India and potentially having international ties. The investigation into this matter is currently ongoing.

The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence stands as a premier agency responsible for combating import-export fraud, as well as tackling issues related to anti-smuggling and anti-narcotics.
