Mumbai, 4th September 2024: Saudi Arabia has unveiled its inaugural consumer campaign tailored specifically for the Indian market, named ‘Spectacular Saudi.’ This initiative, part of the broader ‘Saudi Welcome to Arabia’ tourism brand, invites Indian travelers to explore the rich cultural heritage and modern attractions of Saudi Arabia.

The ‘Spectacular Saudi’ campaign, launched in English across India, aims to showcase the country’s stunning landscapes and historical treasures. Through a series of visually striking images and videos, viewers are taken on a virtual tour of Saudi Arabia’s diverse attractions, from the ancient mud-brick architecture of Diriyah’s At-Turaif to the pristine waters of the Red Sea and the historic streets of Al Balad in Jeddah.

The campaign emphasizes the close cultural ties between Saudi Arabia and India, highlighting the warm and welcoming nature of Saudi culture, which mirrors the hospitality Indians are known for. It targets a wide audience, including couples, families, and travelers seeking unique cultural and historical experiences.

Alhasan Aldabbagh, President of APAC Markets at the Saudi Tourism Authority, spoke about the campaign’s significance, stating, “Indian travelers have always valued authentic and unique experiences. Saudi Arabia offers a perfect blend of history, culture, and adventure. With iconic destinations like Diriyah, Al Balad, and the Nabataean tombs in Hegra, AlUla – all part of our eight UNESCO World Heritage sites – Indian visitors can immerse themselves in history that dates back thousands of years.”

Aldabbagh added, “We are eager for Indian tourists to experience the warm Saudi hospitality, which is a core part of our heritage and resonates with Indian values. India holds a special place in our hearts, and we aim to make it our top source market by 2030. Last year, 1.6 million Indians visited Saudi Arabia, and we look forward to welcoming even more in the coming years.”

The campaign comes at a time when Saudi Arabia has seen a 240% increase in leisure visits from India compared to the previous year. With over 330 direct weekly flights from India operated by eight airlines, travel to Saudi Arabia has never been more accessible. Indian travelers with valid U.S., U.K., or Schengen visas can obtain an eVisa or visa on arrival at Saudi airports. Those who do not meet these criteria can apply for a visa through one of the 11 Tasheer Centres across India.

Additionally, Indian travelers can take advantage of a free Stopover visa, valid for up to 96 hours, available 90 days in advance through Saudia Airlines and Flynas.
